Why we built Wermom

Wermom started in 2024 in Toronto, Canada, founded by parents who were tired of two kinds of baby apps: the ones that ask you to log everything and explain nothing, and the ones that explain everything with no one accountable for whether it's true. We wanted a third thing — a tracker built like a magazine, where every claim has a name behind it.

So we built our product around an editorial board of 16 medical advisors across 8 specialties — pediatrics, lactation, perinatal psychiatry, infant sleep, maternal-fetal medicine, pediatric allergy, developmental pediatrics and postpartum care. Their job isn't to endorse; it's to fact-check. Every health pattern Wermom surfaces is reviewed against AAP, ACOG, NHS, RCH and peer-reviewed sources.

Our mission: give every mother a calmer, evidence-based way to track, understand, and act on what's happening with her baby — and with herself — without ads, sponsored content, or upsells.
